Christine Alden, B.A. Senior Research Coordinator |
Ms. Alden received her B.A. in May 1991 from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland. Her past professional experience includes administrative work in the private sector and research assistant responsibilities at the George Washington University Biostatistics Center in Rockville, Maryland. Ms. Alden first joined the STATEPI research team in May 1998 as Assistant Research Coordinator, where she played an important role in coordination support of the Women’s Interagency HIV Study (WIHS) Data Management and Analysis Center (WDMAC). At that time, her major responsibilities included communicating with internal and external investigators, generating reports, posting website information, and handling related correspondence. To broaden her administrative experience, Ms. Alden accepted a position as a Research Assistant at Wilmer Clinical Trials and Biometry at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in May 2001. In November 2002, she returned to the WDMAC study as Senior Research Coordinator. Her past, broad experience with the WIHS study, outstanding organizational skills, and respected professional association with both internal staff and external investigators have prepared her to assume leadership and coordination of the WDMAC study. Her major responsibilities include coordination of staff and programming procedures for the application of research initiatives, participation in scientific meetings, and collaboration in writing scientific papers. Under her direction, form and protocol development, data collection, and database organization are coordinated to ensure efficiency and efficacy of analyses and reports. She also oversees the organization and coordination of WIHS training sessions, as needed.
