| Dr. Abraham received her B.S. (Biomedical Engineering) from the University of California at San Diego in 1995. In 1999, she was awarded a Masters in Science degree (Biomedical Engineering) from the University of California State University at Sacramento. Further graduate education includes her M.H.S. degree (Biostatistics) in 2005 and a Ph.D. degree (Epidemiology) in 2007 from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her experience is extensive and comprehensive, covering teaching, lecturing, administration, management, and analysis. Dr. Abraham’s resume includes several honors during her academic career including a Thomas and Louis I. Dublin Award in 2005, a National Institutes of Health Training Grant in 2004, and a Rehabilitation Engineering Teaching and Training Grant in 1995. She served as: a Rehabilitation Engineer at California State University at Sacramento from 1995-1997 and United Cerebral Palsy Association from 1997-1999; a Research Specialist at Harvard School of Public Health from 1999-2002; a Research Assistant at the National Eye Institute in 2003; a Teaching Assistant (2004-2006), a Research Assistant (2002-2005), and an Epidemiologist (2005) at Amgen Inc. in California. Her CV lists three publications (all first authored) in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Abraham joined the STATEPI team in November 2007. As an Assistant Scientist, she will be working closely with the Principal Investigators and other faculty and staff members of the data coordinating centers of the CKiD (Chronic Kidney Disease in Children) and WIHS (Women’s Interagency HIV Study) initiatives.
